Information for Coaches

The information for the coaches was put together by the meet director and the chair of the computer committee, as well as other committee chairs.  There were two meetings held, June 6 and July 26, before the All-City meet.  There were morning meetings scheduled each day to share any pertinent information.

The more information you can get to the coaches ahead of time, the more smoothly your meet will run.

Coach and pool information was collected by the meet director to be posted on the website.

The handouts that were given to the coaches at the June 6th meeting included: (most of this information also could be accessed on the website)

Reporting of Dual Meet Scores

The All-City host teams (Middleton and Nakoma) are responsible for reporting swimming and diving dual meet scores to Madison newspapers by calling 252-6170 by 9:00 p.m. Saturday so that the results can appear in Sunday's papers.

Swim scores should be reported to Yuri Danilov (below), and diving scores should be reported to Susan Flickinger at 829-2690.

In addition,  the dual host teams should e-mail the complete final results to

Yuri Danilov ([email protected]) so that they can be posted on the web site.  Using the Reports Menu of WIN‑MM, select Results.  On the Results menu, select the "Single" column layout and "Event # Order."  Send the resulting file as an e-mail attachment.

Please direct any questions to Yuri Danilov via email ([email protected]) or phone 836-0646 (home).

Directions and Parking for the All City Meet

This year we anticipate that plenty of parking will be available for all three days of the 2001 All-City Meet.  Immediately adjacent to the pool is a 500-car parking lot and, as part of the ongoing renovation of Middleton High School, another parking lot for approximately 150 cars should be completed and ready for use.  Plus, there are numerous residential streets very close to the pool that are available for additional parking.  See the enclosed map to find Park Lawn Place where the pool is located;  adjacent streets are Maywood Ave., North Ave., Franklin Ave., and Bristol Street.  Cars which block driveways will be ticketed and/or towed.

We will provide permits for reserved parking close to the pool for two coaches per team per day, as well as for officials.  At the immediate entrance/driveway to the pool, traffic will be restricted to delivery and emergency vehicles only.  A buffer zone will be maintained around the pool to protect the many pedestrians who will be entering and leaving.  The best way to get to the pool is via University Ave. to Middleton, then turn north at either Park Lawn Place or Bristol Street, and then proceed straight for three blocks to the pool.  (See enclosed map.)

FROM:            CATHY WELTON AND KATHY NEISH

MEET DIRECTORS

SUBJECT:     2001 ALL-CITY SWIM MEET

The Middleton Gators are thrilled to be hosting the 2001 All-City Meet over the next three days.  We plan to have a well-run meet and hope that everyone involved will enjoy the All-City experience.

There will be a head coaches’ meeting with the head official every morning in the hospitality area at 7:45 am.  We will share any pertinent information with you at that time.  You must have one representative there.  We will start promptly.

You are to provide the first names, last names and swimmer ID (if you have it) of relay team members on a disk within three hours after the conclusion of the preliminaries.

We will use the diving well for 13 and older swimmers to warm up and cool down.  They should enter and exit at the gate to the right of the pool concession building.  We are fortunate enough to have the space to provide this as an option for swimmers, but if this privilege is abused, we will close the diving well.

Coaches’ seating is provided on the pier.  Only coaches, officials and other authorized personnel will be allowed on the pier.   You will need to meet with your swimmers off the pier.

Please read through the emergency contingency plan for inclement weather.  There will be an announcement if we want swimmers to evacuate to any of the other locations.

Enclosed are two coaches’ parking passes per day per team.

Officials will receive a parking pass as well.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

We are looking forward to another successful All-City Meet.

Good luck to all!
