Getting to Seminole
Traffic patterns will vary depending on which pool you’re coming from and whether you’re using the swimmer drop-off lanes. We have two of these lanes, both on Schumann Drive. The first is at the bike path at the bottom of the hill leading up to our pool, at the entrance to Tent City. The second is at the bike path at the top of that hill, at the entrance to the pool.
We have a number of parking options that may be quicker for you than using swimmer drop-off. For instance, if you park in the Woods Edge neighborhood and come down the bike path, it’s about the same walking distance to Tent City as using either drop-off.
Coming from the East (e.g., Maple Bluff or Monona)
- Take the Beltline West
- Exit Fish Hatchery south (we strongly advise against taking the Seminole Hwy exit because of Beltline construction)
- Turn right on Hwy PD/McKee Road
- Turn left on Richardson (stoplight)
- Turn right on Schumann
- Proceed to swimmer drop-off
Coming from the West (e.g., High Point or Middleton)
- Take the Beltline East
- Exit Verona Road south
- Turn left on Hwy PD/McKee Road
- Turn right on Osmundsen Road
- Turn right on Schumann
- Proceed to swimmer drop-off
Coming from the Center (e.g., Nakoma or Shorewood)
- Depending on where you’re starting, head south on Midvale/Verona Road or Seminole Highway
- Turn left on Hwy PD/McKee Road
- Turn right on Osmundsen Road
- Turn right on Schumann
- Proceed to swimmer drop-off
Parking Options if Using Swimmer Drop-off
After you drop off swimmers at either the lower or upper drop-off, these are your best parking options.
- Go straight on Schumann and proceed to street parking in the business park west of Seminole Hwy. Walk to tent city & pool via pedestrian crossing at intersection of Seminole Hwy. & Schumann Dr.
- Turn right on Seminole Hwy, then right on Hwy PD (McKee Rd), then proceed to street parking in Woods Edge Rd area. Walk to tent city & pool via bike path north of Seminole Glen park.
- Turn left on Seminole Hwy; then left on Lacy Rd; then proceed to street parking in Lacy Heights neighborhood or use school parking lots. Walk to tent city & pool via bike path.
Parking Options if Not Using Swimmer Drop-off
- Street park in business park and walk to tent city & pool via pedestrian crossing at intersection of Seminole Hwy. & Schumann Dr.
- Street park in Woods Edge Rd neighborhood and walk to tent city & pool via bike path.
- Street park in Lacy Heights neighborhood and walk to tent city & pool via bike path.
- Park in school parking lots and walk to tent city & pool via bike path.
Disabled Parking Options:
- 4 spots in the Seminole main lot and 2 spots in the Epic Marketplace lot are reserved for guests using wheelchairs. An additional 8 spots will be available in Epic on Saturday.
- Other guests who have difficulty walking should drive south on Seminole Hwy. and turn left on Lacy Road to use the two school parking lots and park in the lot furthest from Lacy, Stoner Prairie Elementary. There will be a sandwich board sign at the entrance to the bike and walking path, instructing guests who need assistance getting to the pool to wait. Golf carts will transport them to the pool parking lot. This option is preferred to using swimmer drop-off for people needing assistance.
