Expand the sections below to see details on each host’s site plan.

Parking

The parking lot at the Shorewood Hills pool will be generally unavailable except for reserved parking for coaches, officials, meet staff, and individuals with mobility restrictions who have handicapped licenses/passes. As a result, street parking will be available throughout the Village of Shorewood Hills. Typically street parking is limited to two hours, but the Village of Shorewood Hills will not be enforcing the two hour restriction on Wednesday, July 28. Swimmer drop off is available at the intersection of Swarthmore and Purdue. Meet attendees and spectators are encouraged to arrive early and allow for ample time to walk to the pool. The Shorewood Hills pool is located on a bike path, and we have ample bike parking for those that arrive by bike.

Masks

The Village of Shorewood Hills issued guidance for its village-operated facilities to follow Public Health Madison Dane County (PHMDC) guidance that was issued on July 27, 2021. This PHMDC guidance recommends that all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, be masked at indoor public spaces and indoor private gatherings.

As a result, individuals inside the Shorewood Hills Community Center will be expected to be masked. This is true for individuals using the locker rooms and rest rooms on the first floor as well as individuals using the 2nd floor spaces for scoring, hospitality, and officials.

Seating

Limited bleacher seating will be available on the deck, and spectators can spread out on the deck to watch swimmers. Individuals with mobility impairments will be able to sit close to the pool deck. Shorewood Hills does not allow blankets, chairs, tents, etc. on the pool deck during meets; instead, all participants and their family/friends are asked to spread out on our expansive green space located north of the pool, community center, and tennis courts. We will assign marked locations for teams to congregate to help allow for teams to be together and to provide a meeting place to congregate for relays.

Warm Ups before the Meet

Swimmers will only be able to access the pool deck through clerk of course. Parking will be available on surface streets throughout the lower village area, please see attached map for detailed parking and traffic patterns.  Parking will be available in the upper bluff as well (see map) if approaching from the west, but there will be no designated swimmer drop-off.  Attendees would need to park and make their way to the site.  There will be golf carts making rounds in the village to assist swimmers and spectators in getting to Tent City at Beach Park.

Volunteer Parking

Tent City at Beach Park

We have partnered with the Village of Maple Bluff to make Beach Park, at the base of the entrance to Maple Bluff Country Club, a mini tent city.  Swimmers and their families are welcome to bring pop-up tents and place them in designated areas of Beach Park.  Restrooms and concessions will be available next to Tent City, and we encourage families to make this their home base when not actively competing or watching their swimmers.

There will be an optional warm-up available at the Maple Bluff Country Club pool from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 25th for anyone wishing to warm up in the pool and practice starts and turns.

Maple Bluff is not mandating mask wearing or social distancing but asks that families be considerate of those around them and comply with Dane County Public Health guidelines.

Spectators

Spectators will utilize the upper terrace overlooking the pool using the north entrance on the golf plaza, near the concessions.  We ask that spectators move to Tent City at Beach Park when their swimmers are between races to allow adequate space for each family to watch their swimmers.

Handicap spectators will utilize the drop-off zone and handicap parking at the top of the Maple Bluff Country Club parking lot.  Please drive to the corner of Kensington Drive and Fisk Place and the parking volunteers will guide you.  There will be a golf cart to provide transportation to the north pool entrance where we will have marked seating available on the pool deck.

Special Considerations

  • The beach at Beach Park will be closed to swimmers during the event.  There will be lifeguards monitoring the frontage along the lake, but no swimming will be allowed to ensure the safety of participants and their families.
  • Please be considerate of the golf course and stay off the greens and fairways.  Spectators and swimmers should stay in the Tent City area at Beach Park and remain on the paved drive when moving between Tent City and the pool area.
  • The clubhouse, except for the upper terrace overlooking the pool, is closed to non-member spectators and participants.  Concessions, restrooms, and all emergency care will be provided at the pool or in Tent City.

These facilities have restroom accommodations and three changing areas with doors. Swimmers needing to change into specialized suits can use these changing areas.

We will have four gender-neutral portable bathrooms on site. One, which will be disability/accessible, will be near the tennis courts in the upper area of the site. Three will be in the lower area of the site (“tent city” but please remember it’s BYO tents).

We currently plan to allow swimmer and spectator access to the bathroom facilities in the pool house, but if conditions become too busy, we may need to refer people to the portable bathrooms.

COVID Protocols

We encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated. If you are not or choose not to be vaccinated, we ask that you wear a mask at all times on premises, including outdoors. Our focus is on our 11-and-under swimmers, who are not currently eligible for a vaccine.

As a reminder, we are asking that you not come to the site or stay at the site if you don’t have swimmers during a session. Only 12-and-under swimmers and their fans should be on site for the morning session of Championship Saturday. And only 13-and-up swimmers and their fans should be on site for the afternoon session.

We were thrilled in 2016 to welcome a record number of swimmers and fans to an All-City site. This year, we’re hoping to do our very best to give everyone a great experience and still keep all safe and happy.

Spectators

We have about 350 seats in bleachers. We ask that you rotate out of the bleachers as soon as your swimmer’s event is finished. An accessible viewing area will be available at the turn-end (or 8-and-under finish end) of the pool. The first row of all bleacher seating will be reserved for people who have trouble climbing to higher bleacher spots. If a Meet Marshal asks you to relocate to accommodate a spectator needing one of these spots, please do so.

Heat Sheets

Heat sheets will be sold at all sites. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be $3 each.

Championship Saturday will include program cover and additional materials and will be $5.

The order of events will not be available on Meet Mobile, but results will be posted there.

Volunteer Check-In

All volunteers will check in at the table in front of the main Seminole breezeway entrance. Volunteers will be able to step away to watch their swimmer’s races when they come up.

Special Considerations

Seminole Pool is a non-standard length – 26.5 beautiful meters! Here’s how you can convert your swimmer’s times to “Seminole Time”:

  • SC Meters x 1.065 = SEM time
  • SC Yards x 1.165 = SEM time

Championship Saturday will end at the conclusion of Event 70, the men’s 15-18 free relay. We will not be doing coach relays or announcing age group or final meet scores on deck at Seminole. We encourage teams to return to their home pools to gather and celebrate the results when we post them online and on Facebook at 6:30 p.m.

Pools hosting the meet are welcome to utilize other participating pools through a reciprocity agreement. Click here for more information and to view open swim times.
